Puerto Rico is a pharmaceutical manufacturing powerhouse, with pharma representing 50.5% of manufacturing GDP and 24% of total manufacturing employment. Building on this strong position, a series of initiatives and programs have been put in place to foster innovation and to establish a knowledge-driven economy. These efforts are complemented by subsidies, grants and incentives which make Puerto Rico also an interesting location for companies aiming to establish a presence in the US.
